Never lose a number, nib or note again with this handy family unit organizer. Really, information technology'south just a DIY bulletin board for the space near your front end door, but each member gets their own section to save important documents or leave notes for others.

Materials

4x5-human foot piece of 1⁄2-inch-thick Homasote (encounter Note); spray adhesive; 2 yards of chocolate-brown burlap or heavy cotton fabric; scissors; heavy-duty stapler and staples; ii yards of ii-inch-broad ribbon; 3 yards of i-inch-wide ribbon; 3 Masonite or wooden messages as desired; chrome spray paint; four printed cotton napkins; thumbtacks; carpenter'southward level; pencil; drill with screwdriver bits; long wood screws; wall anchors (optional); D-rings.

Note: Homasote is a wallboard made from recycled newspaper pulp. It can exist purchased at home-improvement stores; inquire to have it cut to size for you at the shop, or use a circular saw or table saw to cut at home.

Directions

1. Spray adhesive on one side of Homasote. Smooth material over glue so material extends beyond each side; trim excess fabric and so that it extends three inches beyond edges of board on all sides.
2. Turn board over; fold textile toward dorsum, tucking in diagonally at corners and stapling to back. Go along stapling fabric to board, spacing staples about 4 to 6 inches apart.
3. Place board faceup on work surface. Place 2-inch-broad ribbon across width of lath, about 1 foot from pinnacle; fold ends over to back and staple in place.
4. Cut strip of 1-inch-wide ribbon in half; place strips forth height of board, evenly spaced to course three equal sections. Fold ends over to back and staple in place.
v. Spray-paint messages; let dry. Glue a letter to each department of board, above wide ribbon.
half dozen. Fold two napkins in half, right sides out, to course pockets. With folded edge down, tack to each side department of board near lower corners (slip papers, envelopes, etc., betwixt fabric layers to concur in place).
seven. To brand double pocket for center section of board, fold 2 napkins in one-half, right sides out. Fold one napkin in half again and place on top of other napkin, with folded edges aligned at bottom. Tack both layers of napkins to centre department of board at corners and where shorter napkin ends. Use additional tacks to split pockets into sections, if desired.
8. Use a carpenter'south level to marker positions of wood screws for mounting into wall studs if possible. If you can't observe studs, mount screws into wall using wall anchors. Adhere D-rings to back of message board in alignment with screws; hang D-rings on screws to mount board on wall.
